“Private Mixtapes” is a science-fictional song about an artist who gets mixtapes from her male muse. The mixtapes are received telepathically, and not on cassette. The artist in the song expresses her musical experience through scenes from impressionable movies from the 80’s such as Total Recall, Dirty Dancing, Back to the Future and Top Gun.
